Below I’ve listed a few features of my ideal world. There would be:
Equality
World peace
Equal resources
Rainbows in the sky
Flowers everywhere
Peace between people
No abandoned animals
Streets lined with fruit trees
Everyone would love their job
No one would be hungry or thirsty
Netflix Spain would play Netflix US
There would be no need for prisons
Every child would have a loving family
Everyone would have access to free education
Everyone would have access to free healthcare
Compassionate people would govern the world
Fresh sweet (vegan!) popcorn would be made available everywhere
Humans wouldn’t eat animals because there would be tasty alternatives
What about your ideal world?
Would you have equality?
Yea, right? Unless you’re racist, xenophobic, homophobic etc. and in that case I hope you’re never in a position of power.
Would you have world peace?
People would be crazy not to have world peace in their ideal world. Who wouldn’t want a safe planet for their children to grow up on, safe from fear or harm from war.
Would you have flowers everywhere?
Only the hay fever sufferers wouldn’t want flowers everywhere!
…
…
…
Would you have a world where humans wouldn’t eat animals because there would be tasty alternatives?
Wait! You would?! Well today is your lucky day! It happens that your ideal world has come sooner than you expected because there are now vegan alternatives for pretty much any food and they taste delicious!
Challenge
If you consider yourself an open-minded person then comment below with one food or drink item that you think can’t be made using vegan alternatives, I’ll reply to your comment with the vegan alternative (whether it be from a store or a recipe) and then you try it. Deal?
*me offering you my virtual hand for a virtual handshake*
I’m so glad we could come to this agreement and I look forward to hearing from you! Have a great day π
Hmm, good challenge but I can’t think of anything that couldn’t be made vegan. You have me racking my brains that’s for sure. Maybe vegan bacon that smells and tastes like bacon. But I’m sure there is a vegan option out there for that.

Thanks for commenting and being the first person to give the challenge a go π
As you said, there are actually many vegan versions of bacon that taste and smell exactly like bacon. I’m not sure where you are based but in England there is a brand called “This Isn’t Bacon” which is insanely good when cooked on a hot grill (thanks to my mum for this information!). Let me know if you live somewhere else and I can find a brand closer to you π

A little specific maybe; but pied de couchon! (steamed pig’s leg) which must sound exceptionally awful to you, sorry!

Hahahahah, you did it! There is no vegan recipe for this. After some research it turns out that vegans don’t want to recreate pied de cochon. There are many vegan recipes to recreate pig flesh, bone and skin so we could put them together, but I’ll admit when I’ve been beaten. Thank you for taking part! π π

I really Like the features in your ideal world. I want to specifically emphasize the “Everyone would have access to free education” and hopefully, free education includes higher education. It just makes me so disappointed with how expensive higher education is!
In regards to something that does not have a vegan alternative, I guess steak or ribs or fish (salmon).

Ah thank you for such a lovely comment and for taking part in the challenge! I asked for one item so I’ll pick the hardest one from your list: ribs.
There is actually the most amazing recipe for ribs made from mushrooms(!): https://www.bosh.tv/recipes/wicked-asian-ribs
My husband (non-vegan) loves this dish so much and even he said he couldn’t tell the difference. I would definitely recommend giving it a try π

By the way, I also agree with your comment about education. Your level of education should not be dependent on the amount of money that your family earns. So sad π¦

Hmmm, hard to say because most food and food products have a vegan alternative, but maybe poultry that actually tastes like poultry

Thanks for giving the challenge a go, Roshanna π
Actually poultry was probably the first product made into a vegan alternative. There are so many yummy vegan chicken burgers, chickens pieces and even fried chicken these days. You can even make it at home! My husband actually made me crispy chicken popcorn for my birthday and it was amazing π
My favourite chicken from the supermarket is Linda McCartney’s shredded chicken (it has amazing texture and taste). I know you can get this in England and Spain for sure but if you’re in another country let me know and I can find another brand. Here is the link if you want to take a look: https://lindamccartneyfoods.co.uk/our-food/frozen-range/vegetarian-pulled-chicken/ π

hi
this is indeed a lovely challenge and I am trying my level best to think of one thing that needs to be made without a vegan alternative and maybe I would guess it would have to be a fish-based product, what would be the alternative for that

Sumit, thank you sooooo much for mentioning fish. Fish is actually becoming one of the most popular vegan alternatives. I’ve had the most amazing “fish” and chips from a restaurant where they actually baked an aubergine, battered it and did some kind of magic because it was so much like fish! There are more popular alternatives to fish though, mostly using banana blossom because it has a great texture. Here is a standard recipe for vegan fish: https://www.elephantasticvegan.com/banana-blossom-vegan-fish/
I hope you enjoy! π

That’s a toughy – I’d have to ask my friends who choose the vegan lifestyle….I, however, am still struggling with becoming vegetarian π

If even meat and cheese can be made vegan, I can’t think of anything that can’t be made into a vegan substitute. I’m wondering if there is a vegan substitute for milk/cream that has similar taste & consistency.

Hi Mary π Great question! There are soooo many varieties of milk that you will inevitably find one that you’d fall in love with. Varieties include soy, oat, rice, hazelnut, almond, hemp and cashew. Everyone has their favourite and each one is so much better than cow’s milk for the environment. Any good local supermarket should have some vegan alternatives to cow’s milk so I hope you can find something you enjoy. If you want any more tips then get in touch and we can talk uses for each milk π π

Love your ideals on what would be a perfect world! I think for me, the idea of a better world for children everywhere would be key! It pains me to see sick or abused children anywhere in the world! If we can all just try to help someone…we dont have to help everyone but if we all tried to help someone, we could make this world amazing

yes yes, most of the items on your list would be mine too. Personally I would like to have more pink roses & tulips as the flowers everywhere π Really wish all these can happen, an amazing ideal world to enjoy every moment

Ahhh that would look lovely but I’m sure there is room in your ideal world for more types of flowers π πΌ π

I agree with so many things on this list. Especially every child having a loving home. It breaks my heart that there are so many children in the system.
